John: We're 10,000 leagues under the sea, stuck on the ocean floor, running out of power, and about to drown -- and these people just can't stop arguing about it. Why did I sign on for this mission again? Oh, yeah: "Anyone who doesn't want to go through the gate must be whacked." Fuck you, Jack O'Neill. Fuck you.






Note John's clenched fist. He may look a bit worried but that fist says he's pissed -- the first sign we get that he's more than a laid back, lazy surfer dude. And that there's more to him than he allows people to see. Oh, John Sheppard, you try so hard to hide, don't you?

Weir: "Now, every one of you volunteered for this mission and you represent over a dozen countries. You are the world's best and brightest; and in light of the adventure we are about to embark on, you are also the bravest."

(I'm taking 70 neurotic scientists, a platoon of gung ho Marines, and one cocky Air Force pilot on a one way trip to another galaxy. "Best and brightest"? I might as well be herding cats.)

Dear Diary,

Just flew to a top secret research station with a general. Nearly got him killed when we were painted by a weird, spermy-looking missile. Nearly killed the general when he wouldn't stop side-seat flying.

Finally got to see the inside of the station -- a mile under the ice! -- found the guy who fired that missile and gave him a very stern talking to. Sat down in a recliner from hell and made it work with my mind. (The guy in the orange fleece needs a chill pill. So does the guy with the glasses.)

Now the general and some diplomat lady want me to go to a whole 'nother galaxy, far, far away.

Nope, not freaking out. At all.
