1. You know those moments that never get old? Well, one of the moments that never ever fails to make me laugh is the way Joe shouts "RONON!" as Ronon and Teal'c face off over the cafeteria table in Midway. Boy, that's the voice and tone of a man with a family of young boys and dogs!

2. The fact that I'm watching Midway right now because my boy wandered in (it's half term holiday here) and put it on. SGA was our family show, the one that we all adored and watched together and I love the way we all fan the show. The only other comparable show would be Doctor Who.

So, what do you love about SGA today? Is it your family's show?

I read it several weeks ago on Gateworld, I think. The producers decided that the show was "a bit dark" (you think?) and they needed to add some lighter moments. Yeah, right. I also read that they "adapted" McKay's character a bit to conform with SGU's "atmosphere". I wish DH hadn't agreed to appear, but if any chance exist for a SGA movie, I suppose he had to. I, for one, as much as I miss and would to see the characters in a new story...I'm not certain I want the movie. Who knows what Mallozzi would do the team and to Sheppard?

The move to Tuesdays has been disasterous for SGU...lowest rating ever last week for a SG series...under a million viewers. Oops....

I hate to be cynical about this show...I know there are a lot of SG fans that love it and I don't want them to feel cheated like SGA fans felt. But the producers and studios made a very, very bad move here. Mallozzi's recent statement that he had a life-long distain for heroes said it all...

In the words of a handsome colonel..."Crap!"

Edited because I left out a very important word...don't...in talking about SGU fans...sorry.

Too dark? Wasn't that the whole point, originally? I wonder where their young, 20-something audience is... watching Glee?

You know, somebody finding the light switch on board of the Destiny would already help a lot.

In think in this particular case it's called "realistic". *g*

Seriously, they tried to copy a concept and it failed because said concept's fanbase was already satisfied with what they had and didn't feel the need to fall back on the worse "copy", so to speak. Not very surprising.

OTOH, they neglected (to put it mildly, I suppose "alienated" would be more fitting here) the fanbase they already had for the different concept of SG-1 and SGA and didn't get much of them on board for watching SGU.

And now they're finally starting to realize this (not that they've been told that by a good part of the SG fanbase pretty much from the start or such a thing) and try to change course.

It won't work, the only thing left is wondering *when* they're going to realize this as well.

SO, now they're all going to be happy about being on the Destiny? All happy campers getting along, joking as they whisk through space? *snort*
