Sheppard: Does he even know he's flirting?


Teyla: It appears not.
Ford: Scary chick behind him knows.


McKay: Chick? What chick?


Sheppard: McKay, step away from the lovely alien scholar and her scary intense girlfriend before your flirting gets someone hurt.


Allina: Major, we weren't flirting. I was just pumping him for information.


McKay: Ooh, pumping! I like the sound of that.
Sheppard: You didn't like it when it was Chaya.


Sheppard: I'll take care of his pumping, thanks.


Sheppard: Did I just say that out loud?
McKay: Yes, you did. I'm intrigued. And rather shocked.


Sheppard: Yes, I did. So call off your scary girlfriend and leave the pumping to me.


McKay: I had no idea he was this territorial. It's rather charming in a Cro-Magnon sort of way.


McKay: I've decided I'm flattered. A beautiful alien scholar, her jealous girlfriend, and Major Leany McLean all fussing over my manly figure. Yes, flattered.
Sheppard: Whatever. Just stop flirting and give my eyebrows a rest. I'm too pretty for wrinkles.

Despite the fact that Allina was one of the few canon suitors I liked for Rodney, I really like what you've done with this dialogue here. *g*

I liked Allina too. If things had been different, she's someone who would have done well as a visiting or permanent scholar on Atlantis. (I really wish TPTB had done more with that concept: Pegasus natives living and working in the city.) And if I weren't such a slasher, I could see her with Rodney too. *grin*

Oh, absolutely. There was so much potential in that. Not to mention, they could have had more story-lines set in the city, meaning a lower budget for not having to build more sets or go shoot in a Canadian forest off-world.

They got lazy with SGA. There's a lot of microclimates in and around Vancouver; they used them with SG1 and other shows use them as well. (Highlander, which also shot at Bridge Studios, made great use of the Vancouver microclimates for their historical flashbacks.) So I have no idea why the producers of SGA kept defaulting to forests. The only one I remember them using other than the "meadow" was the desert in "Vegas". Lazy. Just lazy.

Come to think of, I always wondered where did they shoot "The Defiant One".

Yikes! Just did that one and it slipped my mind. Yes, "The Defiant One" was shot in the same area as "Vegas", along with any number of SG1 "desert" planets, including Abydos. So, yeah, they could have gone to desert planets any time they wanted.

It just seems so odd that they didn't have more variety for their offworld missions.

Well, I always just thought that woods and meadows where what was available in a reasonable distance to the studios and that it was just too expensive to shoot at locations with a different landscape. But now, that you've said they had options, I really wonder why they didn't use them more often.

Probably lazyness, as you've already pointed out.
