em_kellesvig: John looking at Rodney with a fond smile (SGAMcShepFond)

Atlantis is heavy on Rodney-exposition, a fact that David Hewlett often lamented. But he did it so well.

Look at his hand: even his fingers get in on the exposition.

Love the look on Elizabeth's face. (Torri did so much with so little.)

And John's still working the eyebrows. (Another iconic shot.)

Looking back, I'm surprised how many of the most recognized shots came from the first season.

Re: Rodney's hands - don't need to tell me twice ;) Joe was another one that could say a lot with just his face.

YES. He really took that in and made it come to life, so to speak. Made him interesting to watch and listen to. He really is a phenomenal actor.

Yes, the audience got always the impression that it was Dr. McKay explaining something, knowing exactly what he's talking about and you could ask questions about this topic and would actually get answers. He *sounded* as if his pseudo-scientific lines actually made sense and the whole person was involved in that. Words, sound, body language, the way he looked at people (or things), he really rocked that part of the role. He *was* Dr. McKay. :-)

,,, is it just me, or does John look like he's lost in deep thoughts about Rodney's finger? Possibly dirty thoughts?? >;->

I feel this vidlet might be to your interests. (The stream isn't there anymore, but I doublechecked and the download still works.)

Thank you for that link! I have to hunt down a codec before I can see the vidlet on my (trailing-edge) computer, but I enjoyed the Festival of Hands it was made for very much indeed. :-)
