We love our unsung heroes.

How about our unsung fans?

What made me think of this? I brought coffee beans over to my neighbor who was a little under the weather. Now, she doesn't have an lj, she's probably never read SGA fanfiction or joined any fan communities. In fact, if it weren't for this post, you'd never know her name.

But there, filling her 36 inch tv screen is John Sheppard, intent look in his eye and P-90 at the ready.

Excuse me a moment while I stop and appreciate the beauty of that.

*coff* Back now.

Patty is a big a fan as any of us. She often tells me before I read it on lj what David or Joe has 'tweeted' and her Atlantis DVD's are never far away. Her current dream is to make to a Con and she'll probably do it before I do.

There's millions of us out there. Some times we're right in the mix of things, sometimes we lurk. And sometimes we're the unsung fan. Sitting back and quietly loving our show.

I see no reason why I can't take a moment to TACKLEGLOMP the bunch of us. \o/

Okay, okay, so while we're squeeing (which may, um, take a while, I know), may I pout on behalf of this entire comm that "we wuz robbed".

Because the Trek generation got the Star Trek Experience in LA where fans could be filmed on set and integrated with the actors, then able to take home a permanent memento.

Can you imagine in what kind of ecstasy I could have been (or, well, perhaps you really shouldn't) if I could have been in a puddlejumper or in the gateroom. Yes, even if all the SFX had to be CGI'd in after-the-fact. But I would have squeeeeeeeed for, like, EVER!!!!!
