Follow Up on The Game

Following up on stella_pegasi's earlier post, I found a cap of John's "avatar" from The Game. You can see the heart-shaped studs on his leathers very clearly here. Notice, also, the looks on Ronon's and Teyla's faces. What gives me the giggles about The Game is that Rodney's avatar is a smart, blonde woman, and John's is a rough, bald, leather daddy. With his heart on his sleeve chest. Make of that what you will. *grin*

From what I read, Joe was throwing in all that stuff and David didn't catch on until quite late in the series. Joe was doing all that literally behind his back. No wonder the pining!John/oblivious!Rodney trope is so strong in the fandom. *grin*

It was in amongst the New Zealand con reports, right after the show went off the air. I think there was even a vid of it. David said he didn't realize McKay was Sheppard's boyfriend until Joe told him early in the fourth season. They kept breaking up and making up, and David didn't even notice it until Joe pointed it out to him. Then he went back and watched some of the episodes and saw what Joe was doing. Apparently, he thought it was funny. He would have caught on faster if he hadn't had all those lines to learn. :)
