Thanks. I think everyone is very busy with school, or getting that last vacation in, or dealing with whatever RL has hit us all with right now. Every now and then, we need to stop and enjoy the scenery...and this is very nice scenery.
LOL...It's so funny, how different people look at things...some like me, only saw two geeks playing a computer game and others take an entirely different slant on things. Personally, I am not a slash fan; however, the symbolism runs rampant through this episode.
That's what I pretty much love about SGA - John and Rodney together just *works*, be it as friends or be it watched with slash-goggles on.
"Miller's Crossing" - I call it the episode that turns "John loves Rodney" into canon, no matter if one is a genner/het-fan and watches them as friends (because, like, you know, a friend feels about another friend) or a slasher who prefers to think about it in a romantic sense.
Definitely something to squee about. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with slash or het. I am neither a shipper or slasher. Damn it, I'm not sharing!!!
Actually, I am a real stickler for cannon, and I prefer action/adventure, humor, that kind of stuff. That's mostly what I write. However, I have read some pretty good non-gen material. Pretty darn, whoa...good.
And you are so right, this show truly lends itself to the "something for everyone" meme.
I'll never get over the heart-shaped pattern on the armor of "John's guy" Badon. *G* I really like how Nola and Badon mirror John's / Rodney's attitude.
And the fact that John and Rodney *secretly* played a game for years without anyone telling about it - yes! *SQUEE*
There's one story - if I could just *find* that thing again - that hints on John/Rodney by using Nola and Badon as if they were their "avatars". I thought it was by Kass but I didn't find it when I was looking. Should ask about it at Storyfinders, I guess. :-)
RL has been kicking a lot of us around lately...hate RL sometimes...gets in the way of fun. It was nearly 1 am when I posted...had just finished a report. I figured everyone could use a little pick me up...hope your day is good!
This ep was low on my list of ones to watch, but I think this pic has pushed it up the ladder! Anyway it is a very iconic episode for fans, I should clue in. LOL!

John and Rondey work for every faction. :-)
