Lt. Aiden Ford really proved himself in this episode. He followed orders, rendered aid, stood up to McKay and kept him on track when all seemed lost. He killed Sheppard in order to save his life and then took command, prepared to sacrifice his own life to save his team.

Big. Damn. Hero.

Note: If the caps seem a bit dark or a bit pixalated when lightened, blame the production crew. The jumper scenes were lit by the cast holding flashlights, with a little aid from the blue glow of the access panels. According to the DVD commentaries, no one was happy with the process but the results were worth it.

Thank you for Ford!

I was quite concerned when I heard the writers were changing up the team. I liked Ford, his earnestness, his youth, his love of blowing things up! (Ronon did turn out to be a wonderful choice but I didn't know that then)

His boyish smile and his personal sense of duty will always be a part of Atlantis.

Ford added a lot to season one and I'm still not sure why they went the direction they did with him. But while he was there, he was everything a Marine should be. Semper Fi.

He was, indeed. Loyal, bad-ass, resourceful, smart and always looking out for his team.

I think I read in the official guidebooks that they ended up writing Ford out because they had no idea what to do with him. I seem to remember reading that they wanted Ford and John to have the sort of bantering that came naturally to Rodney and John, and then they just...had no idea what to do.

I always sort of end up thinking of him as SGA's Jonas. The one nobody had any idea what to do with and most people forget.

Not a comparison I'd ever thought of before, bu that's a good point. Instead we just...never get a solid answer on what happened to them. At least, not one that's acknowledged on the show.
