A couple things I really love about this (I rewatched it the other day and noticed a bunch of things I didn't the first couple of times): how John shields the kid, how Aiden Ford goes to help Elizabeth (how'd I not notice it before), Grodin being wide-eyed but on the ball, the sunlight on the water before the city breaks the surface... And you have to love how the sunlight streams through those stained glass windows. Not gonna lie -- I got teary at the shot (0.55) from below as the spires rose out of the sea, all that water rushing off of the towers -- it's just beautiful. Also noticed how the architecture of the towers is pretty reminiscent of the puddlejumpers. Gotta love that. And then Torri Higginson at the end!! Oh, ELIZABETH!!!!

WHY can't they just go back and make SGA 2.0, exploring all kinds of forks in the roads???? Oh my god, I'd watch it.

You're so welcome! I still get butterflies and teary eyed when I see this clip. Some of it's from the music -- RIP, Joel Goldsmith -- but it's mostly the sheer magnificence of the city and the reactions of her (new) people. It's just -- wow!

I really like your comment on this. It reminds me of one of my favorite scenes from season 1; when Radek is recording his message home in Letters From Pegasus, he's describing this exact moment. Oh, I didn't know they included the Czech translations! Thank you for pointing that out! Yes, I love that scene and Radek's excitement, his amazement. Even without the translation, I could tell he had problems describing what happened and what he thought about it. It's one of those moments, isn't it?
