Hi there. I've been an SGA fan for a few months now (isn't it just my luck that I get hooked on a show after it's already off the air?) and just recently decided to join the online fandom, which unfortunately appears to be waning. Even so, I'm looking still looking for new friends!

Besides, one can never have too many friends to discuss the hottness that is J. Flanigan!

Waning? Waning?? Oh, I hope not! I was a late comer, too. I was converted by a friend just before Season 5. I love the show, the characters, and Joe. Oh, my. So gorgeous in person, too. And such a gentleman. And he gives great hugs!

Welcome to SGA!! Waning? Maybe, but I like to think of all of us left here as the die hards, here because we love the show, love the characters, the actors, and most of all love the sense of community that's still very much alive here, not to mention incredible talent of the writers and artists and vidders, etc. There's still plenty of stories to be told and art to be created, plus all of the old gems to discover. So, again, we're glad you're here!

That is a great pic... not one you see often. I possibly have an unhealthy obsession with Joe's face and this shows it off perfectly.

Oh, no. Definitely not on our watch. We're a dedicated bunch who are sticking to OUR show and OUR fave actors, even if the only SGA we get to watch (and re-watch, lol) is on our DVD sets.

So, welcome to the fandom.
And you brought us a prezzie. Fabulous cap. It's fascinating to identify the varying emotions on that infinitely expressive face. The pursed lips show "determination". More pursed than that and you know that Sheppard is heading into "defiant" territory.

The eyes are still clear (also giving off a hint of innocence, well at least to me). Because, whoa, the Flan does a chilling and intense "I'll do anything to protect MY city/people" glare.

If you'd like to find some fascinating fics to read, check out sgagenrefinders and sgastoryfinders, not necessarily to ask, but to see what's been asked (and found) before. Because, if you like the question, then you'll probably be interested in the result. The "genre" community will only allow searches for any/all stories of a particular category (like all Rodney-is-a-brave-little-toaster fics) while the "story" comm is for a specific story (like, uh, I can't remember the title but I know that John and Ronon were stuck in a cave and John was injured, yadda-yadda-yadda).

I got into SGA pretty late, too. Vegas and Enemy at the Gate were the only episodes I got to see live. (I was marathoning it for two weeks before Vegas.) It was the McKay/Sheppard dynamic that hooked me.

I love that picture! I don't think I've seen it before. Joe Flanigan seriously is just gorgeous. And it doesn't hurt that he has unbelievably adorable characteristics either.

I'm so lucky - I'll get to see Joe Flanigan live at the Dragon Con this year.

Another late comer myself! And while, yes, the fandom is waning from the power of its glory days, it still remains one of the more active fandoms for a canceled show that I know of. Still lots of fic being produced, and lots of active comms! And wow, so many YEARS of fic to mine!
