You know, squeeing about the show, and the characters, and Atlantis, and all of the stories and vids and podfics and everything else that goes into SGA fandom is a truly wonderful thing. It's just that sometimes we forget that the SGA fandom is made up of people. Individuals whom we get to know from reading their journals and their stories and looking at their art, and listening to their voices as they read our favorite stories, and sharing the SGA squee, and maybe we comment, and they comment back, and the next thing you know, you're talking. You've made a connection You've made a friend.

That's worth squeeing over, too, isn't it? ♥

Yesterday, I experienced first-hand the amazing generosity of SGA fans - although they chose to remain anonymous, I was unexpectedly showered with gifts of extra paid account time and tokens and virtual gifts, and I appreciated it so very much.

I just wanted to come here and squee about it - about all the wonderful and generous and kind folks who make up the SGA fandom. *points at all of y'all*

Yep, I've certainly met some great people in this fandom. I feel very lucky to have discovered all my fantastic 'virtual' friends here.

Most definitely squee worthy! As a matter of fact, I was thinking about doing a post along these lines as well, but you beat me to it! And with better cause than I had. It's so nice too to hear the *good* fandom can do for a change. :-)

Mini-separate squee here: my friend ended up adopting the little blue heeler mix we went to look at yesterday. My friend is not an SGA fan; she's never read any fanfic except what I've given her to read. She told me she wanted to name the dog "Toad" after the dog in Homecoming. :-) She won't, because one of the new horses at the barn is named Toad, so she went with "Wart" instead.

It's ridiculous though, how much this makes me grin and think that Jim Banks would approve. :-)
