Nah, Atlantis blue is more... celestial, for want of a better word (see the cap in the meta post). More like the shade of blue in the top left hand corner of your icon, Melagan.
This looks to me to be a very light shade of Wraith Blue (aka Deep trouble blue). Or even slightly like the blues they used for the Aurora. *squints*
Though, like I said in the meta, Atlantis generally uses colour very loosely. Vegas was the exception!
Interesting! So the blue they use for Atlantis in the show is a touch on the greenish side, and not necessarily so bright. (And now that you mention it, that is more the colour on the walls inside, etc.) Mentally I've always associated certain brighter light blues with Atlantis, because of the show's title sequence, and the colours of the Stargate itself, etc :)
But like you said, colour is used loosely, and personal preferences are always a different matter than production choices :D
So melagan, the colour of that necklace of yours is probably closer to the Atlantis blue used on the sets than I thought when making it :D
Yeah blue is definitely an Atlantean colour in regular Atlantis. What I was describing as 'Atlantis blue' in the other post is use more for the city rather than the team. They tend to be followed around by a spectrum of truer blues. If you know what I mean! Difficult to describe verbally.
Vegas just uses colour so damn precisely, I think is more the thing. There are still repeated colour uses in reular Atlantis(especially Atlantis blue) but... yeah it's more meaningful in Vegas.
Would people want a 'colour in Atlantis post' do you think? I could probably put one together.
I know I would! I find this stuff very fascinating ^_^ I know I'm very affected by things like colours and music, so it would be interesting to get a good analysis of the colours in the show, and ponder for a moment how they might have affected my viewing on some underlying level. I don't catch things like that consciously :)
And any analysis won't spoil my viewings in the future either, because I tend to get swept away by the plot and characters, and not really remember any interesting meta I've read :D
I say go ahead! There must be others who'd love to read your post too :)
