Alright chaps, if we were going to have a sixth season what episodes or events would you want or not want to see in it?

(I'll post my own list in the comments.)

Oh man, I really want a dS-like episode with them being haunted by their fathers. YES PLEASE. And also an ep where Rodney almost gives his life for his team ♥

Have you seen Star Trek TNG? I'd love to see an SGA episode in the format of "Lower Decks" XD You know, the point of view from those who are not in the middle of the action, who aren't senior staff~

Plus it'd be fascinating to see what the "nobodies" (so to speak) think of the senior staff. Also: it'd be hilarious to see the main characters running around in the background because emergency! while the characters we're focused on are calm and confused XD

- AR-1 stealing the city

We know exactly where our misfit team truly belongs.

Atlantis stolen (by our core people) and brought back to Pegasus. I would like to see more of how John's gene interacts with the city (and the city with him). The jerks that be used it in the beginning and made a big deal about it and then dropped it like it never existed. I want to see them eliminate the wraith, get rid of the replicators and resolve finding Teyla's people. I want John and Rodney together and Keller elsewhere. I want Carson back as CMO. I would like to see Weir return in some fashion if possible.

I really miss my show!

OK, so after reading all the comments who is writing this epic?

I would have loved a sentient Atlantis POV; a Stargate revealed ep, which would be good for a clip show, with the addition of scenes of them on various media outlets.(You know, Teyla and Elizabeth sit in on The View, John and Rodney on The Daily Show, etc. )

I'm pretty happy with what the team of Atlantis Rising (http://sga-rising.com/index.php/season-6-episode-list-2) has done so far with their virtual season 6.

My personal preferences for a non-existing season 6:

* Atlantis back to Pegasus, where it belongs
* More Teyla and Ronon, as characters and not as plotpoints or there to support the walls
* Action/adventure and more exploring
* Elizabeth Weir back - either to end that story line or to do something more meaningful than floating around in space
* Kate's never coming back canon-wise, but I would have liked to see her again, either in a flashback or perhaps an alternate universe
* an episode in which the ladies totally save the day
* less Rodney - far less Rodney ... actually make that a Rodney-free episode and I'd be over the moon
* I'd totally bring Cadman back for more fun
* More Zelenka, Lorne, Beckett
* exploring of the city and discovering cool tech, or not so cool tech

In short, I would have wanted them to go back to the feeling the show had in season 1.

My heart might not agree about the Rodneyless part, but I love, love, love the idea of an episode in which the ladies totally save the day.

My heart might not agree about the Rodneyless part

Imagine then what it's like to be me and all those others who had to endure 3/4th Rodney while other characters were either dropped in favor of him, or relegated to background characters in favor of him -- because TPTW loved him more than anything in the world. Even Sheppard was second to Rodney.

Did you know that Teyla did not appear in 9 episodes out of 200, and Ronon did not appear in 5 episodes out of 178 episodes. Both members of the main cast.

Did you know, or realized perhaps that Rodney has probably triple the amount of screentime and words than both Teyla and Ronon combined. Add Ford for good measure, and you might have the same amount.

Very frustrating numbers if you're a fan like me. And yes, I counted screentime and words. I am that dedicated (or insane). =P

So, you can see that it would be refreshing to see someone else in the spotlight with Rodney sent into the background or non-existent at all. ;)

Ouch. It must've been very difficult to watch a show while disliking one of the two main characters.

It says a lot for your love of Stargate Atlantis that you didn't give up on it.

Oh, if I put more effort into this I the list would grow much longer. I still wish this show had gotten more seasons – there were so much potential for great stories.

Number one thing I would want is Atlantis back in Pegasus and a heist episode where the team makes that happen would be great.
Teyla kicking ass on Earth (not at SGC) and in general more backstory and history about her and her people, and I would want to see more of her and Kanaan and learn how that came to be.

Ronon picking up some science and helping out with something else than fighting (I don’t believe he’s as clueless as they wrote him). Again more backstory and history would be lovely, we know way too little about him pre-Atlantis.

An alternative timeline episode or more where we see Atlantis losing contact with Earth because the fight against the Ori is lost and not won would be amazing. What would happen if Earth was lost?

More exploration of Atlantis.

More team bonding and humour.

More of Lorne and his team.

As massive as Atlantis is I am sure there are plenty of things to explore that would make an interesting episode and it could also be a good way to get to know the Ancients better.

No worries :)

There was an uneveness in backstory and general screentime in regards to Rodney and John vs. Teyla and Ronon and it's just sad and shows a poor handeling.

The what if of not winning the fight against the Ori does make for a good story idea if I do say so myself. I would love to see a version of that play out with all the emotional turmoil and having to depend on the resources available to them.

Ah, I stil wish this hadn't been cancelled!!!

*pauses* I don't know! I really like where S5 ended, at least from a fanfic-writing/reading perspective, because so many things were possible: returning to Pegasus, no one being dead, etc. I guess I feel like S6 would just take away an infinity of potential...

But! I'd like to see Atlantis returned to Pegasus, and I'd like to have 2-3 episodes of them working really hard to make that happen: not passed over with 10 minutes of "look, we found a ZPM" *handwave*.

I'd love to see more interactions with Pegasus cultures and governments, as set up in S5: deals with the Genii, grudges, trials, etc. I want more interaction with Teyla and the Athosian survivors, finding out what their community looks like after Michael. Ronon exploring his roots and his future. Everyone exploring Atlantis! Because it's full of secret wonders. I never really liked having a lot of romance on the show (as it was often done terribly) but I'd like Rodney/Keller to be there on the back burner like Rodney/Katie was. I like Kanaan/Teyla a lot. I'd love for Sheppard to come out: not because he's seeing anyone, but because his team is his family.

Something we could really sink our teeth in and enjoy. *nod nod nod*

Without looking at other people's comments first... (let's see how many other people share)
Atlantis returns to Pegasus - possibly in a mutiny situation so that those stealing her away can never return. That scenario, how it came about, what happened next could pretty much take up a whole season.

John and Rodney finally admit their feelings for each other and move in together. Jennifer wanders of in a huff - but assists in the mutiny secretly and stands on the Golden Gate bridge to wave goodbye as the city leaves.

Teyla finally realises that Kanaan is weak and no good for her and moves in with Ronan.

The Pegasus worlds create an alliance, ready to fight to keep Atlantis in Pegasus.

The earth tries to get the city back.

The wraith, meanwhile are making a quiet comeback

So are the Genii...

... I think I better stop now before I sprain something.
Now going to see what others have said.

Ficcers did it with Torchwood and it was awesome.

How about:
- When Sheppard's team is off Atlantis, some disaster strikes Atlantis and Lorne, Radek, Chuck, and Nurse Marie have to solve the problem. Maybe Amelia, too.
- During the course of some mission, Ronon and Teyla make Pegasus references and quoting Pegasus sayings and Sheppard and McKay keep having to ask for context.
- Intro to Atlantis and Pegasus 101, the official military and science versions, and the unofficial ones. New personnel are briefed at Stargate Command, but some things have to be seen and experienced first hand.
- We've seen physicists, engineers, botanists, and medical personnel (doctors, nurses, pathologist, psychologist), but did Atlantis have any other types of scientists? And surely a lot of the military could do something other than carry a gun. It was a one way mission and it didn't have a lot of personnel. How about seeing more of them solving problems?
- This probably didn't happen on the series because of budget, but how about some underwater exploration.
- More exploration of Atlantis itself.
