I need to let out my squeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Whoa! I'm exhausted from rushing to finish my fic and finally post it to the comms. But I must admit I can't honestly squee about a terrific 10 years. Why? Because ::hangs head:: I didn't even know the show existed until THREE years in. And, even then, how I found it was completely a fluke.

I was at my ex's place and we were watching TV. I saw that SG-1 was starting and so switched channels. Imagine my shock to see a completely new (to us) Stargate show ... one that I would fall in love with even more than SG-1. One of the major reasons why I was enthralled with SG-1 was Joel Goldsmith's music, so it was no surprise that his scoring for SGA would move me even more (though without the Egypto-alien influence).

When I got home I bugged my chosen baby brother to get me the first two seasons while I was catching up on S3. I couldn't get enough of SGA. And, naturally, I fell in love with the major characters and promptly paired Rodney with John. Mmm-hmm. I especially loved how the show would confirm my suspicions by giving us so many examples of "pining John". 'Cuz why show it if it's not true? Right? Yes, definitely.

Though I'm ultimately sad that TPTB abandoned a terrific sure thing for their new fetish show, I am always stunned to see how much talent and dedication there is in this fandom. I love you all and thank you for entertaining me and making me think thinky thoughts about life and people and ... stuff!

Oh, now you're making me laugh ... because I'm as old as a dinosaur (a Canadian one at that)! But I have absolutely NO plans to abandon this fandom because it has exceptional people involved in it - and not only as creators, but just all-round nice people. Hmmm, isn't that why TPTB tanked the show, because they didn't appreciate people who demonstrated their integrity and dedication? Even if they were ONLY fictional? Talk about people who could be intimidated by their own creations. Sigh.

Anyway, thank you so much for your positive fb to my undoubtedly high-pitched squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! [We now return you to your already punctured eardrums. Oops?]

And, now, I have so many fics to read as I catch up on the anniversary goodies.

That is absolutely wonderful to read. It's my biggest fear, that this fandom will slowly die out.
