SGA...10 Years Later Fest

On July 16th, 2004, an intrepid group of explorers set out on a one-way journey to the lost city of Atlantis, unleashing a fandom juggernaut that has resulted countless brilliant works. Please join us in celebrating ten spectacular years by adding more love to the pile.




You may begin posting works (meta, recs, fic, vids, art, comics, gifsets, whatever you like) at any time during the Fest, but please save your biggest splash for July 16th, the anniversary!

The Fest collection is open at SGA 10 Years Later Fest on AO3.

This is, hopefully, popping up in various communities and tumblr, etc as we try to spread the word. Meanwhile pre-celebration posting and discussion continues on right here if you're looking for a little inspiration. I know I have my marker ready to start drawing hearts. \0/

You know, I do have this gifset made of older!John/young!Rodney. But it includes a nsfw gif, so I've hesitated to post it. Hmm. I'm sure I'll come up with some other ideas!

Is there any list available of the communities, etc., where the Fest is being advertised? One thing I see on Tumblr a lot is people saying they don't know where Stargate fandom *is* (or even, "Wow, I wish Stargate had a fandom~" which makes me want to cry).

ETA: Ah, the list is on the AO3! If you don't mind a suggestion, would it be possible to have those as links?

Son of ETA: I thought it was cheeky to ask you to do all the work, and now, ah, I think I'll be signing on as "the person writing the guide to where SGA fandom is now" (I went through my LJ and DW, but not my Tumblr yet). I've approached some of those other comm mods, busaikko, but haven't gotten a response. I will approach the ones I've missed as well; thanks for the pointers.

I'll make the comms links as soon as they post announcements to link to. So far only squee and sga_saturday have done so.

Weird, I never saw that for SGA Smooch (but with the RBB madness, god only knows, the PM could be buried waaaay down in my inbox, mea culpa /o\). I can give you my list of people who let us post RBB ads if you want (i.e., communities which are active and have responsive mods), and I can poke Flyboys and Hot Shex and Grabass.... *eyes that sentence dubiously*

I hit up gaffsie for sga_smooch (and grabass); I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were a mod! I went purely by my faulty memory there. My apologies. :( Gaffsie has said she will participate when she has an opportunity, but if you have a chance, please go here and customize the banners to your heart's content. I have had no response from flyboys. I just now hit up hot_shex. I am loving your constructions...they are making my bunny thinky. :D

Okay! I'll have to do that when I get home *shifty look* (is on lunch break) but can do. I'll ask Mific and Neeve about the RBB as well (I don't think anyone would write a BB (we are all written out!), but we could do reviews maybe, or at the least encourage people to go check stuff out).

If you are posting work to AO3 there should be a handy checkbox that says 'post work to collection' click and start typing SGA...Ten Years Later Fest. It should pop up as soon as you start typing. When you post it will automatically add it to the collection.
