They really were. When you think that some (like Parrish) were only in one or two episodes, but we include them in all our fic, that says something about the character and the actor who portrayed them. :-)
I have the softest spot in my heart for Radek! To me, Radek was the uber-geek in Atlantis: Rodney was brilliant & all, but I can't help but suspect that Radek was the one who got most things done. (Plus, y'know, all the sex!god!Radek fics are my headcanon. >:-> )
Radek! ♥♥♥! And I love the show for having so many lovable supporting characters ^_^
This makes me miss hoktauri's Character Love Sundays, they were a wonderful tribute to the variety of people who inhabit Atlantis and Pegasus galaxy :)
Ah, Radek! We love you so! I do love that Radek was complex and multifaceted, even as a supporting character. Even though the show often used him as comic relief--as they did many of the scientist characters ("look, he's afraid! Isn't that funny. He must be a coward. Our Noble Soldier Character will bully him into doing the Right Thing and all will be well)--he also got to be the POV of the Ordinary Person faced with the wonders and perils of Atlantis.
I love Dr. Zelenka so much! He is my No.1 among the supporting characters of the show! I adored him when he spoke Czech especially. David Nykl played his role brilliantly portraying the Czech scientist. And Radek plus Rodney arguing with each other is always fun.:)
In 2010 I was so lucky to meet with David at a little sci-fi con in my hometown. He was kind, joyful, funny, entertaining, familiar, friendly, brilliant! He fascinated everyone there.:)

Okay, I'm officially jealous. Of course I'm also tickled pink for you. :)

He truly did and I am forever grateful for that. He didn't happen to confess by the way, if Radek ever had that still? That's a part of fanon I'd dearly love to see canon.
