Alison declines to join the others in the lab and Dusty (for once, not cracking a comment) stays behind to keep her company. [Is this realistic? Once again, it seems that some of the female civilians are given the leeway to be freaked out in the Pegasus galaxy. So, poor preparation and inadequate aptitude evaluations (identical to what I mentioned about Jennifer in previous episodes)?]

While Carson's trying to be quick in downloading data from Michael's console, Alison hears ... something. So does Dusty. In the meantime, John and Anne are walking through the lab. Beyond some metal doors, there are more open stasis pods. Oops. Back in the corridor, Alison and Dusty reach a dead end. [Of course they do.] And then a creature drops down from the ceiling. John gives Carson and Anne his new orders. If they're overrun, he wants them to fall back and make it back to the gate. But there's no need; as the creatures rush out, they're gunned down. Finally there's a reunion of all the survivors.

The ending is a bookend to the beginning where Rodney's in Carson's quarters and Carson is packing again. John drops by, but he's not halting Carson's plans. And John just has to ask Carson how Alison is. [So, now, John keeps track of who's dating whom on Atlantis, but didn't know that Anne had an all-female team? ::rolls eyes::] But he had to in order to advance the dialogue and to get Rodney curious. Also, Carson thinks that she'd be very helpful for his work. That gets a sarcastic agreement from John. Carson suggests that John mention it to Richard. Uh – just when did the MILITARY commander of Atlantis become able to affect positions on the CIVILIAN side? [Can I growl and shred TPTB yet? Please?]

Rodney then turns petulant and decides he's not interested ... though he's dying to know. As the doors are already closing after John and Carson have left the room carrying luggage, the doors slam in Rodney's face.

[Okay, this is just so ludicrous, I don't know if I can express my loathing without spontaneously combusting. First of all, isn't Alison under Rodney's jurisdiction? I didn't get the impression that she was necessarily a medical doctor, especially not when she talks about disabling the security protocols in the lab. Mind you, even if Rodney is her boss, he's known to be terrible with names. But, hey, John's willing to help pimp her out to Carson by getting her assigned to work with him. With a nudge, nudge, wink, wink attitude that lets everyone know it's not her work skills that are desired. And, finally, let's make fun of Rodney by having some doors slam in his face. Ugh. So, I guess if John sets up Carson, any friendship that may have existed between Rodney and Carson (you know, deep and loyal and so sweetly demonstrated when Rodney said his goodbyes to Carson's spirit on the pier at the end of Sunday) is meaningless. And while I'm talking about unsuitability for working in Pegasus, just why does Alison have at least two weeks of R&R back on Earth? I don't believe she was injured, so was she so traumatized she had to be relieved from work? Just. Does. Not. Compute. And adds to the whole civilian female as a fragile flower – as opposed to the no-nonsense toughness of Anne or wise-cracking nonchalance of Dusty.]
