Um ... I'm shaking my head. Everybody's just gotten together (and having something to eat), when John says he's going to head out to the next village. John, it's dark out. Just what do you think you're going to accomplish? But Dusty – lucky – gets to babysit the geeks, again.
Time for a stupid spooky interlude, as a stasis pod opens and mist flows out.
Back with the geeks, Carson finds out just how much younger Alison is. But, hey, this is Stargate, where TPTB like to pair impossibly young women with middle-aged men. I guess it must be like a reward system, but ONLY for the men, you see. ::groans::
Spooky time for the trio headed to the next village, then creepy time for Dusty who's decided to check the perimeter instead of watching the icky flirting.
Back to the scary stuff outdoors when Mirellus bumps into the military trio, warning of "demons". Oh, yeah, 'cuz that's so accurate. It doesn't help that Alicia is grabbed and killed in seconds. Too bad John can't do anything about her body as they're surrounded by the creepy creatures. They fire on them and retreat.
More goofy stuff between Alison and Carson until they hear something. It's gunfire in the distance. The radios don't work, so Dusty says she'll go and check it out. But Carson has to dig up his totally unnecessary chivalry, by insisting he's going with her. We don't have to imagine how Dusty takes that. She manages to insist that Carson stay behind. [Seriously, Carson. Do you have NO understanding of the rule of military protecting scientists, no matter what gender? I guess not, because Dusty's just a wee lassie or something. Young, too. And, if you go out, you'd be leaving Alison all alone.]
Back in the forest, Mirellus, John and Anne have made it to the catacombs. Their prior equipment failure (lights on P90s) seems to be fixed. So it's time for Mirellus to confess that he opened the stasis pods, releasing their inhabitants. Why? Because his wife had been one of the missing. [Very stupid question time? Did he open ALL of them and then need to flee? Seriously, was he expecting to find her in any decent condition? What if she had still been human and opening the pod killed her? Stupid villager. And, while we're talking stupid, you don't think he might have mentioned any of the important info the FIRST time he ran into the team? Nah, just say "demons".]
So, let's go visit the other stupid person back in the village. Carson's determined to go looking for Dusty. And he actually thinks he'll have an advantage! Why? "I'd like to surprise them instead of the other way around." Seriously, Carson? So you now have stealth combat training?????
Well, he comes across something and it's sure not Dusty. What with the eyes covered with skin and scary teeth, was anyone else reminded of the Bringers from Buffy? I sure was. Though the mist from the neck is a new variation. The creature gets way too close to Carson, so it's a good thing he's rescued by Dusty. She prods him to run back to the house. Except now Alison seems to be missing. Can't people stay put? Luckily, John, Anne and Mirellus show up. John naturally picks up on the horror movie trope immediately, lol.
So, mist = bad and nobody wants to know what long-term exposure to it may mean.
More stupid words from Mirellus who says they should wait until dawn at which time it will be safe. Why should anybody believe him? Thankfully Carson and John insist it's necessary to go out. Mirellus freaks out.
It's weird to hear the reason why Michael abandoned his research: because even he couldn't control those creatures. Um ... how ridiculous is this story getting now? He very easily pulled the plug on all the maturing hybrids from the captured Athosians when he took off with Teyla, but here he just left ALL those stasis pods still functioning. Arrgghh.
So, while the others go out, Carson is left with Mirellus.
