McKay: You're in Mensa? And you didn't tell me? [This is a level of betrayal on par with not mentioning you've been married and divorced, that you come from money, that you ran away from home to join the circus Air Force, and that your mother was a Keebler elf!]


Sheppard: I never joined; I just took the test. (Because I'm an asshole that way.)

I'm not sure the Keebler elves actually have pointy ears, but I imagine if John's mother was one he'd have killer cookie making skills.

I LOVE THIS ENTIRE EXCHANGE. Rodney is just so fascinated by John's almost-MENSA status. My friend has this famous tag from tumblr - #I love how in the episode where Rodney finds out John could’ve been in Mensa he’s suddenly like *Oh*, as in Oh, you just went from marginally more attractive than the average lab rat to FUCK ME NOW.

RODNEY WANTS YOU FOR YOUR BRAIN, JOHN.

Also, Rodney in this scene is so hilarious: I need my eyes for seeing!

I think the 720 moment was more..."Oh. This is not your typical flyboy..." moment. It's what initially caught Rodney's interest, and then with the MENSA thing...well, there was no turning back XD

Bahahahahahahaha! I love this scene so much. SO. MUCH. Especially John's face when the ZPM pops out and he realizes: holy shit it worked (and thank fuck). That look is so priceless! ♥

So can I request a post about the awesomeness of Aiden Ford in this episode? Please please please????

The problem with Ford's awesomeness in this episode -- in fact the whole fight sequence -- is that it's all a smoky blur. I couldn't get one clear cap out of the whole bunch.

From the flip of the flashbang spoon to John with the P90, it just moves too fast. I couldn't even get a clear shot of Teyla with the knife the other day and I went frame by frame.

Two things I learned: they didn't use stunt people for the fight and the actors are damned fast. (Well, maybe the no-name Genii were stuntmen but Joe, Rainbow, and Rachel did their own fighting, as did Robert Davi.)

Since I can't do gifs, your best bet is to ask sgafan for some Ford awesomeness. Sorry, my dear. He's total badass in this and I couldn't catch any of it.

I put Kolya right up there with Todd for best villain. Great actors in those roles.

And personally, the whole team is hot (even if I ping between Flanigan and Hewlett for sheer yum on a daily basis). ;)
