Entirely my bad for a late beginning on the Romancing McShep Challenge. (I was busy writing Rodney as an elf. Oh dear.)

So I've put up a poll to see if there's still interest even with this late start, HERE

At the suggestion of [livejournal.com profile] selenic76 I'm sharing this here :)

As happens in the mind of a writer, random thoughts breed more random thoughts.
I scribbled this down a while back, but I know I'll never get around to expanding it into a story, so I'm leaving it here in the hopes that it will inspire someone.  Since it's me, I was thinking a gorgeously hot and complicated, sometimes funny, sometimes angsty, John/Ronon, or even a John/Cam fic, about searching for and recognizing the real you and your real partner.  But whichever pairing gets chosen, it'll make it's creator happy. :)

What if the stargate actually scans you and reproduces you at the other end?
Would there be clones of you everywhere?
What happens to the original you?
From the moment you experience your first gate travel, are you ever you?
How could you tell which you is the real you?

.

So, a while ago I rashly posted offering up my unopened Field Ops Rodney action figure, then found out it was (maybe) becoming collectible, so I couldn't send him off.
Today, I saw a loose, used (ha!) figure up for auction on eBay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stargate-Atlantis-Series-2-FIELD-OPS-RODNEY-MCKAY-Action-Figure-loose-DST-/182298409841?

He's starting at $19.99 (auction) plus shipping.
I think the auction is over too late for this year's squee. Nine days. But --
My son buys and sells collectibles on eBay -- he says sometimes he writes to a seller and says "how much will it take for you to sell me this and close the auction right now?" (sellers are allowed to cancel auctions for various reasons.)
I hope you all don't end up bidding against each other -- but he's there if you want him.

Conspiracy theories just seems made for anything to do with the Stargate program. So why not have a challenge for it?

To find out if there is enough interest for this, I've put up a poll HERE.

It you have minute, please drop by and let me know what you think. Signal boosting would be greatly appreciated. The more the merrier!

I read that there would be figure posing/figure photographing at squee weekend.
I don't think I've ever seen Rodney in his dark grey/black field uniform on any such post. Therefore, if welcomed wanted desired, I would be willing to send my Mint-In-Box Rodney to the Squee Weekend. You can be the first to ease Rodney out of his tight little box, bend his knees for the first time, delicately caress his thigh holster... This Rodney is ready to meet the strange natives of the Planet Squee.

If you want him, let me know where to send him via my email addy on my profile page. The sooner, the better -- so I don't lose him, forget him, or run out of money for extras like package mailing.
And, just ignore me if some attendee already has a field ops Rodney.

Guys, it's official! I have October 5-12 off! I will be purchasing my ticket here in a little while. I can hardly believe it's actually happening. I am so excited to finally get together with other SGA fans. Looking forward to this so very much.

[livejournal.com profile] melagan posting for [livejournal.com profile] neevebrody

It is utterly amazing to think this is the 7th year for Squee Weekend… let me repeat that, the SEVENTH YEAR of meeting amazing Stargate Atlantis fans (who have become dear friends, nay family), seven years of episode re-watching and thought-provoking discussion (some of which are definitely saucy and not much appreciated by random folk around the outside fire pit); seven years of fun and lasting friendships and feeling as if you've truly come home!

SQUEE7

you'll find all the details under the cut... )

As the SGA fandom activity has waned over the years, it's nice to know that there are still folk out there who love the show and want to get together and talk about it. Not that we don't go off on tangents into other things: writing, reading, crafts, coffee, food, Rodney McKay's ass and why it should be worshipped… well, you get the idea. One thing's certain - we have loads of fun and we hope you'll consider joining us this year!

It's not too late to post your entry for 'home is where the heart is' over at [livejournal.com profile] story_works.

Basically, it's a challenge that takes the idea of [livejournal.com profile] casa_mcshep without the mcshep part being necessary. (but you certainly won't get any objection from me if you want to go that route *g*)

Since [livejournal.com profile] selenic76 is on vacation and I'm going away on vacation myself in a few days, all extensions are unofficially granted. So go ahead and head on over to Story Works and have some fun with it.

We will be coming up with a new challenge in the near future and I'll be putting up a poll once [livejournal.com profile] selenic76 and I have the chance to put our heads together. Hee, so watch out!
[identity profile] melagan.livejournal.com
And I think you're going to like it.

This month's challenge is all about what home means to the residents of Atlantis. You can find out more about it here.

The Love Springs Forth multifandom challenge has begun!

The first of this four part challenge can be found here.

Seeds of romance is about beginnings. That first look across a crowded gate room, or perhaps that first time John sits in the control chair. Maybe it's the discovery of an Ancient device and it's consequences. It's all there in your imagination waiting to spring forth.

This is a multifandom challenge, so hey, it's a perfect time to explore that crossover you always wanted.

There's no minimum word count and you have two weeks for this first round of romance. Come check it out.

It will come as no surprise that I'm hoping we'll see some Stargate Atlantis love for this challenge. Now there's a thought, just how would the city of Atlantis experience these four stages of love? *ponders*

It's the month of March and time for Plot Bunny Dust-off Challenge.

Time: Month of March

Place: At [personal profile] melagan's LJ

Rules: This is a Multifandom Challenge. Choose a Work-in-Progress to focus on and be re-inspired. There will be multiple discussion topics throughout the month that I hope will help inspire that pesky muse. If you feel like tackling more than one WiP, go for it.

Works can be of any format. Art, Podfic, or even that long Meta you always wanted to write. This challenge is to get that bunny dusted off and working again.

Result: Anything from a complete piece to adding two sentences to a story. This challenge is about the journey and kindling imagination.

If you do complete a WiP by month's end, we'd love to have you post a link to it.

And to help with pimping we have Banners!
