Colour me a Bad Fan, for I have only seen seasons one to three (in my defense, Virgin dropped Sky 1 just before season four. Bastages.)

Anyhoo.

#10. Sunday

It's all so quiet. Shush, shush. And then people started exploding... Anyone who sat through Carson's funeral without shedding a tear must have had their heart removed.

Despite the sadness, it's a freaking awesome episode.

#9. Tao of Rodney

Rodney, supercharged. Hewlett, awesome.

#8. The Game

I cried with laughter the whole freaking way through. Though I also had tremendous sympathy for Elizabeth when she realised she was running the biggest kindergarten in the entire universe.

#7. McKay & Mrs Miller

Jeannie. Rod. Shameless stealing of iconic Terminator scenes...

Kate Hewlett is just as awesome as her brother.

#6. Hide & Seek

The first SGA episode I caught. I turned on just in time to see John shove Rodney over the balcony. I'm pretty sure I was sold at that point *g*

#5. The Defiant One

Rodney, oh Rodney. Also John baiting the Wraith is fabulous (and kind of reminds me of Wil E Coyete trying to catch Roadrunner...)

#4. Hot Zone

I think what I remember most about this episode is Rodney's fury at Carson, not just for his own sake but for his rapidly-diminishing team.

#3. Grace Under Pressure

Rodney, wet. Sam, wet. Bikinis and snoggage and whales.

And the team refusing to give up on Rodney is just awesome.

#2. Duet

Despite using the Usual Screencap, what I really love about Duet is the Rodney/Laura... "interaction". I love Cadman to distraction and wish she'd become a regular.

If only so I could ogle Jamie Ray's gorgeous hair.

#1. Critical Mass

Though I do think they should have made this a two-parter, Critical Mass is my favourite episode to date.

A bomb in Atlantis. References to 101 Dalmations and Lord of the Rings. The inside man. Kavanagh fainting. Rodney and Laura...

What?

Excellent choices! I was surprised by your number one choice.

I totally agree with your comments on #7; two Hewletts are exponentially more awesome than just one, which is pretty awesome, lol

Radek in Critical Mass is priceless! David Nykl pulled that off with such flair! Terrific list and picspam! Thank you!

I love picspams! I have no talent for them and not nearly the library to pull it off (not having the ability to screen cap either) so I love this!

I cried with laughter the whole freaking way through. Though I also had tremendous sympathy for Elizabeth when she realised she was running the biggest kindergarten in the entire universe.<.I>

This made me snort with laughter. YES!!

Meant to say before, if you love the show, you aren't a bad fan. I *still* haven't seen all of S5 and I *own* it. I don't read fanfic nearly as much as I'd like and I spend way too much time hanging up pretty baubles as goals that I simply do not have time to pursue.

Love is love. The nice thing about it is that it can go on forever. Sure, fandom is quieter now and shrinking as people are attracted to other fandoms. I'm teeming now with more ideas than I have in the last few years though and I can see them keeping me occupied for a long time to come. :-)

not having the ability to screen cap either

http://www.gateworld.net/gallery/ Every episode of Stargate (SG-1, SGA, SGU) completely screen capped. :)

Thank you! Ooooh, now I just have to learn the coding...actually, [profile] mischief5 has given me some good guidelines there. What I really have to do is organize my folders on my laptop and go through all my pictures. A real hardship, I know. :-)

I didn't really have one in mind, I just was surprised by your choice, as it's not one that comes to mind for me, although it was a good episode :)

I watched SG-1 up until sometime mid season 3 when I lost access to cable and wasn't going to pay for satellite. I started watching it again many years later but stopped partway through S7; it just didn't hold my interest any more. I think that probably makes me a bad SG-1 fan. :-) I doubt I was all that dedicated a fan in the first place.

I came to SGA late because of the no cable/ no broadband thing. I waited impatiently for each season to come out on DVD and then bought it, devouring it rapidly and obsessively reading and writing fic based on it. By S3, I had discovered itunes and was reading a lot less, spending more time writing. I still purchased the DVDs as they came out, though! :-)

I've never had any desire to watch SGU. For many reasons. It's no secret that I was insulted and angered by the attitude of the producers towards both the fans and the cast of SGA; lord knows I've sounded off often enough on the subject. SGA was the first fandom that I ever participated in online and the one that brought me back to writing after a 20 + year hiatus. I might not be entirely rational on the subject of my SGA love. :-)

I would have gotten over it long ago had TPTB not insisted on denigrating SGA with every promotion of SGU. The more they touted how wonderful SGU was going to be, the less interested I was in watching it.

I watched the promos. I read the write ups on the premise. I have to admit, part of my problem from the get go was that I found none of the male leads physically appealing (which makes me incredibly shallow but hopefully endearingly honest) and none of the character descriptions appealing at all. Worst, Destiny as not a place I wanted to play.

I want to be good enough to be a member of the crew of the Enterprise. I want Spock or McKay to approve of my work. I want to please Elizabeth, impress John, bond with Atlantis, be friends with the Team. I want to run for my life with a team that has my back. For me to want to write stories about a set of characters, I have to like them, care about them, want to spend time with them.

I don't give a rat's ass about anyone on board Destiny. You can easily argue that I never gave it a chance, and to some extent that is true, but *the characters themselves don't want to be there*. Why should I?

I like three dimensional heroes with flaws. But I have to have someone to believe in, to root for. I didn't see anything like that on SGU and TPTB seemed *proud* of that fact. So, no, I didn't watch it.

Can you tell me why you did? Was it for any other reason than it was a Stargate spinoff? And why did you quit? This is a serious inquiry, not a desire to start any SGU hate.

Oh, Bill, with the 'twilight bark' and then LOTR, when everyone starts nodding! Hee!!! I'd almost forgotten that scene!

I love that scene where Chuck is just about to dial earth and Rodney yells stop, with the straight arm, and Chuck's fingers are, like, trembling with the effort to stop!! It just kept getting better from there! Great choice for number 1!

What's funny is every time I see someone's list, it gets harder to narrow my 10 down! *g*

Critical Mass is so freakin awesome! I'm sorta surprised that it's not on more top 10 lists. It's a fantastic team episode. Cadman rocks in it, too.

(I'll just add #11- Echoes)
