Top 10 + bonus vid

I can't seem to put these in order - I love them all for such different reasons. So, in order of appearance...

Season One Favorites:

Suspicion - This is the one where we see Rodney becoming a soldier and not just a scientist, where alpha!John is in command (the scene with him and Bates = shivers), where we see Teyla's struggle with the choice of staying with her people or actually doing something on Atlantis to help stop the Wraith. This is where Rodney and Radek accidentally find the opening on top of the jumper bay so John and Ford can fly out and find the mainland. The one where first Rodney, then John, get stunned with the Wraith blasters, and where Rodney demands they go back when Ford and Teyla are left behind and John is stunned and can't speak for the team. The one where there was actually some continuity (finding Teyla's necklace in the Rising). So many cool moments. So many fandom tropes started here.

Underground - Amish farmers? Not so much. But the team is already growing weary of the native rituals. John and Rodney strolling through the tall grass, being all 'alone at last', ha! And the Genii! John and Rodney side by side, held captive. The plot, and the twist at the end! Good stuff!

The Storm and The Eye - OMG! First season cliffhanger!! Alpha!John to the max. Brave toaster Rodney! Evil Kolya! John and Rodney all wet, in the rain, being heroes! More plot continuity, going back to the Underground!

Hot Zone - Alpha!John and brave toaster Rodney (except when he isn't, but omg, the moment right when he thinks he's about to die, and then he doesn't?!!!!!) The John versus Elizabeth with Bates in the middle! John and Teyla stickfighting! Our first look at John's self-sacrificing suicidal nature, and Rodney's apprehension as he realizes his boyfriend would do ANYthing to save him, and Atlantis. !!!!

Sanctuary/The Brotherhood - bookends of jealous boyfriends!! (see how I'm combining these? shhhhh) With jealous!Rodney and the One Who Shall Not Be Mentioned (*cough*Chaya*cough) ever again in front of Rodney. Mensa!John! Kolya again! Team!!!!

Season One was so full of teamy and slashy goodness I think it spoiled me for the rest of the show. Plus, the plots seemed so original to me - Home, Poisoning the Well, Before I Sleep!, Letters from Pegasus - so much love!!!

You know what? I can't do it. I can't narrow it down to 10. Nope, sorry, I'm - it's just impossible. Looking at my favorites from season 2, I'm already over 10, and that doesn't include the goodies in seasons 3 and 4, and the couple of decent ones from season 5...

So, I'll just leave y'all with this, as it contains some scenes from most of my favorite episodes...

I so agree with you! So much to love about this show. Even the episodes I don't particularly love, there are only three that I really don't want to ever watch again. (OMG, Whispers! Mallozzi & Mullie need to be horsewhipped over that crap of an episode.)

Unfortunately I can't watch the vid because I'm at work, but I'm sure it's wonderful.

First, thanks for the vid, that was great...enjoy seeing our heroes anytime.

There is no way to select only 10 episodes..in my top ten I listed a whole bunch more and that still did not cover it. Really only one that I truly hated...that was Brainstorm. What a waste that was...just horrid. As for Whisphers...I kinda of liked it...I liked Teldy and Dusty and Sheppard looked hot. So the story be damned...I'm fairly easy to please...I only need Sheppard.

You know, all those vids got accidentally erased off my flash drive, and I can't remember where I actually found that PSA one. Did you get copies of them? I'm pretty sure Neeve did, so maybe she can post it.

Ahem, I seem to have a 'thing' for alpha!John. I may not have realized it until I started talking about what I liked in the episodes. There seems to be a common theme, doesn't there? Brave even when he's scared Rodney, and alpha!John being all growly and in command. Mmmmmm.

Glad you enjoyed the vid. Brainstorm was worth it for John being all jealous in the opening scene, and Rodney as a sharp-dressed man. Trust me - I can find something worth watching in all of the episodes, even if it's just a little eye-candy here and there. I do wish they'd managed to make that one a team episode - how cool would that have been??
