Lt. Laura Cadman



Cadman was only in two episodes but she made quite an impression. I loved the idea of a funny, smart, female marine who could keep Rodney McKay on his toes, live inside his head, and still like him. I wish we'd seen more of her.

She is one of those characters who I wished lived on onscreen as much as she has in fanfic.

Yes, the female characters are treated much better in fanfic than they were on screen. But, hey, all the characters are ours now! \o/

Agreed! I think part of it was the writers didn't know how to write women and part was that the actress is from the US. Canadian productions are limited in how many US actors they can hire per season. Once they had Joe, Jason, and Mitch Pileggi, they were severely limited in the number of US actors they could have on the show.

I really did too. Part of the problem was that Jaime Ray Newman is from the US. Canadian productions are limited in how many US actors they can hire per season. If they had gone to a sixth season, they might have shown more of Teldy's team. Then again, maybe not. The writing staff didn't have the best record with women.

I really wish they'd have introduced Teldy's team earlier in the series. That was a kick-ass group of women.

Just one -- Capt. Alicia Vega. It still would have been nice to see Teldy's team again.

Oooh, Cadman :-) Loved the spunk and smarts! JRN was fantastic in Eureka and in Witches of Eastwick, too.

frankly, I was under the impression Cadman was in more than 2 episodes, she made such an impact of me (LOVE HER). That must be because of the power of fanfic.
