Letters from Pegasus Week
Nov. 15th, 2012 02:46 pmBystanders.
The look on John's face...

For two people, two warriors, to be forced to sit and watch as a planet is culled by the Wraith, must be astonishingly painful. Every time John and Teyla have faced the Wraith, they've been able to do something: run, fight, hide, sneak around them, act in some way. This is the first time they've had to watch and do nothing. Watch the horror and carnage from the outside.
Watch and wait. It shows on their faces. It probably haunts their nightmares for years to come.

(and when I googled it, it's from JOHN!!)
The scope of the dire situation they're in, is finally driven home to John in this ep and Joe plays it beautifully.
Especially like the moment in the conference room when he and Teyla are back, and Liz asks about their plight. John just looks at her and says..."It's bad."

Continuation of the conference room scene where John says
"we saved a few, that's something"
It's a complete turnaround from his earlier stance in the jumper when Teyla asks him to save one family.
